A woman was on Monday charged before a Nairobi court with fraudulently obtaining money pretending to have won a tender to supply GPS in the office of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.
Mwanaisha Mwinyi Abdalla appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi denied the charges.
She is accused of fraudulently obtaining Sh1 million from Karen Karanja by falsely pretending she had won a tender with the Ministry of Agriculture.
According to the chargesheet, Mwanaisha on September 17, 2021, approached Karen with good news of having won a GPS supply tender valued at Ksh 4 million in the office of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.
She then requested Ksh 1 million from Karen to facilitate the smooth running of her business with promises of paying back the money.
Milimani Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi released her on a bond of Sh1 million with an alternative cash bail of Sh500,000.
The case will be mentioned after two weeks.
